We found aluminium shards at one site, and lumps of rusty steel at this site on Black Edge. Whilst steel and wood were used to build the majority of V1s, you will find that the Fi-103 had an aluminium nosecone in its most common A1 variant.
Puzzled about 'V1' craters - V1s were made of welded steel, but all the bits found seen to be aluminium alloy. Perhaps they were ditched bombs ?
