Propellor from the C-47 wreck which used to hang on the gully wall above Llyn Dulyn in Snowdonia, but from which not much has been seen for quite some time.

We were well pleased to find this, our first bit of the day...

The highest fragment found on the slope below the impact point was this part-buried bit at SK 08111 94719. Above this, only the impact site(or sites if you prefer), shown in this previous post as "Dakota Wing".

The Twin Wasp engine at SK 08052 94333.

Peak District Air Crashes says there is a second one of these just below the fuselage, but we did not see it, and they are hard to miss. Alan Clark from the site comments as follows:" I see the other engine hasn't re-appeared at the C-47, it vanished in the flash flooding in 2002 (when Glossop was drowned), the engine that is now out in the gully was previously buried and quite a bit higher up before the flooding."

Today's main effort was to climb Ashton Clough, and see how much of the Douglas C47 which crashed at the top of the hill had found its way into the clough. The posts above this one represent the wreckage found in order, with the highest bit at the top of the page, and the lowest just above this.
