The bit of metal in the foreground is a main spar from the wing of this bomber aircraft. It's a good sized bit of metal.

There is a col (even though it is small, but very clear on the map) between Foel Wen and Mynydd Tawr so the location of this site is Foel Wen. To add to this there is a valley between this site and the named point on the map for Mynydd Tawr. The only possible confusion you suffered from is Foel Wen is a fairly long part of the ridge with the name towards the far end.

The general rule is if you have to go down hill and then back up between two named points then the divide is the lowest point of the col.
