Avro Anson Mk.XI NL185 Update

Went out in the snow with Matt ZX a little while back to show him a few sites on Kinder Scout he hadn't been to. The engine from Avro Anson Mk. XI NL185 appears to be missing. When I went out with Pat and MT Skull a while back, we didn't find it, but I had thought that was because we were a little rushed. Me and Matt however had a good hard look, and there is no sign of it. Someone went to some trouble here. But why?

I was there on 25 November last year and couldn't find it either. Fell on my arse in the bog while looking too! :)

A theory could be that the scruffy thieving cockwombles found it relatively easy to roll downhill toward Jacob's Ladder path and hopefully might have given up at some point. I've plotted a route for later this year to revisit a few sites and check a few details/grid refs. I'll come down that way and give that lower slope a good coat of looking at before picking up the Pennine Way back to Edale.

Yes, we thought the same, but we didn't get all the way down to the watercourse. Laziness on the part of STC would tend to favour a new location further down the clough...
