Thunderbolt wreck on Horsehill Tor: SK 09347 84336
Not much left, and well hidden in the margin of a bog puddle (not a watercourse as some others' photos might suggest). Some sources give this as T6164, not 6464.
Location SE 03351 01588.
Not the most spectacular wreck site, as it was mostly cleared, but we missed it before, so we tacked it on.
The heather was flowering all over the moors on the day.

The first photo of this undercarriage since 2000, when a gamekeeper asked crash site enthusiasts to bury all the big bits of what had been a major wreck site. This undercarriage is at SE 00872 01595.
There are scraps all around, and a number of collections of bigger scraps within the wreckage field, which extends for maybe 100m or so around the given location.
We put up a small cairn next to the location given to make it easy to find.
The elusive DC3 wreck finally located at SE 01493 02680. Contrary to pretty much all published photos elsewhere, the strut isn't standing up, which makes it much harder to find than you would imagine.
This photo, and all photos on the blog from now on are available at the flickr site at full camera resolution.

This wheel is at the main Liberator crash site on Mill Hill near the Pennine Way, very close to the secondary site we have been to many times before (see 10th April post for secondary site).

These few shards are all that is left of the Mosquito above Dovestones reservoir at SE 02568 03186.
We had passed within ten feet of this before and not found it.
We found this bit of cast aluminium engine block in the rocks well above the mosquito wreckage pile.
